With its already borderline sweet/tart flavor, the sucralose sweetened preserves are about what one would expect from blackberries. While the lemon juice is overwhelming in the strawberry preserves, one knows where there are blackberries, tartness will follow like a tarty tart in tart leggings.
Again, like the strawberry preserves, the ingredients are simple: Blackberries, water, pectin, lemon juice, sucralose, preservatives (potassium sorbate, fumaric acid, calcium citrate, sodium
Carb counts are minimal at only 1 net carb per Tbsp.
The only off-putting minutiae is probably the sucralose, which, to me, comes off as just barely the wrong sweet for such a deep, dark berry that should be nuzzled and not spanked on its rear end.Of the preserves I’ve tried so far, I definitely prefer this preserve most.
Price: $7.98 per 16 ounce jar
Usefulness: In any raw or cooked application where jam is needed
Positive: Very low carb count, color is believable
Negative: The sucralose lends the wrong sweet to this rich berry
