Thirsty Thursday (Day 113)

mushroompalooza10Hi there! I hope you are having a great week!

I am so excited because so many cool things are happening right now. The edits for the second Random House book I’m working on (not a cookbook) are pretty much finished. I have my new stove. I’m pretty much done with Christmas shopping. I am getting a ton done and using my time even better than ever before. I have the best friends and readers anyone could hope for (that’s you)!

And because I have my oven back, I’ve been having so much fun creating new things to share with you next week (including what’s in the picture at left)! I also have some amazing products and companies to share with you since I’ve been sent some really exciting things to try.

Now on to how I’ve been doing with our Mid-Year Challenge… Be sure to do your thing. I am thrilled share my progress and thoughts, but I’m not the person you should necessarily look to for dieting advice (I’m not a paid nosh-a-titian). Be sure to subscribe for updates by adding your email right (in the sidebar) or through Feedburner in the title bar up top. You can also click the tab up top that says Mid-Year Resolution for regular updates.

Thursday, December 13

I ate this:
Breakfast: A recipe I’m testing to share with you next week.
Lunch: Same meal as for breakfast.
Dinner: I’m still full from lunch.

Exercise:
Oh my gosh. None. I have been a bad monkey.

Notes: I am a little worried that mushrooms are another food I am going to have to avoid (moldy foods sometimes cause issues for people). I am going to try to skip them (or cut wayyyy back) until Monday and see if that is a culprit.

What I learned:

I am making it through Christmas phenomenally so far! The real test is the pies we plan to bake closer to the big day. I love pies and plan to develop my own pie crust. I am really close, too, but I am such a picky taste tester that it has to be perfect! I can’t wait to nail the process. I am really close with dumplings, too.

I just wish I wasn’t such a perfectionist, but I am.

Would love a low carb mince pie, or anything with mincemeat, have bad cravings for this and eggnog!

  3. Hi Jamie,
Did you mention low carb dumplings? As in to go with stew? Oh, that would be soooo good! I have diabetes and those dumplings are one of the things that make my blood sugars go through the roof! I would love a recipe for dumplings that I can actually eat! And I love your recipes! They make it so much easier for me to be able to control my diabetes and still enjoy chocolate and other goodies! Thank you!

  4. am glad for you Jamie!! Would your pie pastry be savory by any chance?? I am British by heritage and am really missing things like chicken and mushroom pie, steam and ale pie, etc, and so on, and so forth :) I hang on your every post anyway, whichever way the crust pendulum swings – you ROCK!

  5. steam and ale?? NO!! steak that was meant to say
