I had to do it. Pictured above with my bacon milkshake.
Chocolate and bacon are two great tastes that taste great together. Consider the chewy, salty sweetness a moment of calm in a sea of tumultuous temptations. Guilt-free and easy to make, you’ll find yourself coming back to this simply sumptuous sensation.
Chocolate Covered Bacon
6 strips cooked bacon
4 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa
6 Tbsp brown sugar equivalent substitute*
4 Tbsp butter
Microwave cocoa, brown sugar sub and butter for 30-45 seconds on high heat, stirring after 30 seconds. Dip bacon in chocolate mixture to coat. Dry on cooling racks over parchment paper to catch drips. Refrigerate leftovers.

O….M….G….. I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!
I have never tried bacon and chocolate before but I can imagine the salt and sweet mix well and chewy too….
I was addicted for a while to little salt pretzels covered in chocolate but as I am now LC…no more pretzels but this can take it’s place!!!!!!!!
I am about to order myself some LC chocolate (sweetened with ehrythol) .. maybe I could just melt that instead…?? H Hmm…what challenges life brings 😉 Thanks Jamie, you ROCK!
Jamie says
You could definitely melt chocolate with erythritol and probably get a pretty wonderful result. I would still add some butter or some cream to thin it slightly during melting.
Thanks so much for your enthusiasm! Let me know what you try!

Add a teaspoon of bourbon and. I. Am. There.

That is so genius. I think it would, in fact, be the ultimate happy food…

Chocolate + bacon …my two favourite foods, don’t know why I never thought of combining them (though most Aussies still struggle with the concept of maple & bacon). Would it work with real brown sugar? I don’t know if I can get substitute in my neighbourhood.
Jamie says
This would definitely work with real brown sugar, I’m sure. You could make a smaller batch and test.

I’ve done candied bacon. Cook the bacon, drain the fat and add some splenda brown sugar blend and cook until bubbly. It just sticks to the bacon in delicious ways!!! Let it cool , if you can, and enjoy!!

Our state fair (Wisconsin) had this item (I think on a stick no less) for the last few years. We never made it there, but heard many raves. 🙂 I would honestly say… YUM!

Hiya Jamie: the feed-back as promised… I have made your version to start with as my chocolate is taking FOREVER to arrive 🙁 The covered bacon strips are cooling/drying as I type but I had snarfed one all hot and drippy….foodgasm! Thank you, thank you, thank you from the botom of my very-hormonal-and-would-have-killed-for-chocolate-heart x

I can’t find any brown sugar sub. So I used splenda and maple syrup. I’m not sure what I did wrong but my bacon got soggy and limp after putting on the chocolate. Chocolate was really thick how should I thin it out .Cream?
Jamie says
You could add some cream to thin it slightly. The bacon shouldn’t go limp in the chocolate, though. I am disappointed that happened. Bad, bacon!
