There is more food in there than there appears to be.
At 900 calories and 3 net carbs (5 total, 2 fiber), this is enough food for two meals. Of course, I was hongry and ate the entire thing. *dabbing my mouth daintily with the sleeve of my shirt*
This delectable concoction consists of a sausage patty, bacon, swiss cheddar cheese and an omelet loaded with vegetables and cheddar. Oh, and more sodium than you can shake the plastic fork at (2050 mg, so be wary if you are sodium-sensitive).
The meal was only $2.99, a great deal for something that filling and quick. Sure, you don’t want to make a habit out of eating in restaurants, especially when most companies think that catering to gluten-free lifestyles means leaving out the ‘glutes’ (ah, those venerable little adipose cheeks), but when you find a business listening to the consumers, it is all right to occasionally partake.
The menu in my location does not show the item on the reader board, so be sure to ask for the “Low-Carb Breakfast Bowl”.
Want to thank Carl’s Jr for hitting the cutting edge of low-carbohydrate, diabetic, gluten-free lifestyles? Write them and tell them thank you.
And maybe, just maybe, the next time you’re out and need some breakfast before 10:30 am, put a little bowl in your soul.
You are killing me… this is what I had for breakfast this morning! My wife called and told me not to eat my usual breakfast casserole and she was bringing me something home from Hardee’s (same company)… I thought “Oh great a biscuit I can’t eat” but low and behold it was a very thoughtful and VERY delicious/filling meal. I went to post about it on the LCF message board but found that others had posted about it in the past so I just replied to one of them… we definitely ARE borg!

Cant wait to move back next month. Missed the States so much and missed Carl’s Jr. Thanks Cleo.
Thanks for the heads up about this! Looks scrumptious. I will definitely be grabbing one of these next time I don’t feel like making a smoothie or oopsie crullers. Isn’t it lovely that we can partake in all that “greasy” food on this WOE? 🙂
Does this mean that the breakfast bowls are back???? Our Carl’s Jr’s. in AZ had them for a few years, then took them off the menu but I could still ask for them and they would make them. However, about a year ago, I was told that they could no longer make them for me. I haven’t been back to a Carl’s Jr. for breakfast since! But I’m going to go again to see if they are now back.
Thanks!
LOVE the Hardee’s (Carl’s Jr) LC Breakfast Bowl!!! It’s great for one of those “OMG, I’m late and have no time to scramble an egg” days!!! Yummy!!!
Boy, talk about cruel–I was salivating over your photo and description–there are no Carl’s Jr. in my or adjacent ZIP Codes!
Pat
Pat– Some placed they are Carl’s Jr and other places they are called Hardees.
You might have a Hardees nearby.
If not, I’ll send you the bag with the Splenda crap (so you can sniff my breakfast).
i notice you talk about gluten-free eating and lifestyle a lot. I am curious…are you gluten intolerant?
My DH and I both had this this morning. It's the only fast food breakfast we can eat and w/o much guilt. We're on the hcg diet and still lose with this occassional breakfast. Sodium has me rethinking our spluge.
Thanks for sharing.
We get ours at Hardees right after they offer us their latest high carb sandwich.
Hardees alos offer a low carb grilled chicken served with lettuce, tomato, bacon, cheese and a touch of bbq sauce. So good!
