Good gracious. If there’s something that’s just so visceral and terrific, it’s really becoming one with your food.
The goeey, delicious, crazy, mouth-watering spectacle that makes you want to nompf this down so hard, your eyes water, your mouth waters, and your tastebuds want to punch yourself in the face for not eating what’s before you at this very moment.
Enter these crazy pizza pull-aparts. So decadent, even your gluten-loving friends will snarf down your share, they’re also Atkins induction friendly, meaning there’s much deliciousness to be had. Serve it up as a pizza or the appetizer, a lunch, a brunch, or for the after-dinner munch.
Even plated it looks pretty delectable.
Tip: Want to save carbs? Make mini oopsie rolls as bases instead, or use small sausage patties.
Prior to baking, with a sprig of basil for general sexiness. You will love this recipe. So let’s get to it!
Crazy Pizza Pull Aparts
8 ounces Baby Bella mushrooms
8 slices pepperoni

Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Wash mushrooms and remove the stems (chop stems and use on pizzas or save for salads). Place mushrooms touching on a lightly oiled or greased cookie sheet. Distribute sauce and cheese across the tops like one large crust. Bake for 15 minutes. This recipe pulls apart all nice and gooey.
Makes approximately 8 mini pull-aparts

You da woman! Sounds fab dahling!
Why thank yew.
Hubby is mushroom-intolerant (meaning he hates them), but I am sending to Vegetarian Daughter.
You can make these with other bases, too. It doesn’t have to be mushrooms. Think small, bute-sized pieces, baked together and then pulled apart. Small sausage patties could work, too.
If he just dislikes them, he may like this dish because it would taste like pizza but get angry at being tricked.
This looks ridiculously delicious. I will be making this ASAP.
I am so glad! It was just ridiculously fun and easy. And delicious (I don’t want to forget delicious).
OMG…love mushrooms…can’t wait to try these!
I hope you like this as much as we did. It’s just a lot of fun.
I’ve been doing something like this for awhile but your idea of basing it on baby bellas and topping with fresh basil really makes it gorgeous! I am SO there..
The baby bellas can also be replaced with button mushrooms, too.
That they’re placed together and baked on the pan makes them like a big pizza by outward appearances, but they’re really like what the bakers do when they place a bunch of cupcakes on a platter and frost them as a single cake. It’s a fun, different way to enjoy something that’s a part of something so much bigger.
These sound so easy and fun!
Can’t wait to try these! When my daughters come over for dinner (usually pizza) I can have these!!! Thank you so much, you are the best!!!!
You are sweet. Thank you.
I’m totally buying the ingredients for these and trying to do them in the toaster oven at work for a fun lunch…. what a fab idea!
I love the toaster oven idea, Wyn!
I’m going to the store in a few minutes to get some mushrooms. I have everything else already! what a good idea! Thanks!
I hope you enjoy!
Just to be clear, my dahling woman, the entire recipe is one serving?
Hi there! I typically count 1/8 of the recipe to be a serving. So if you used 8 mushrooms, one mushroom would be a serving. If you use smaller mushrooms, you can have more per serving! I love more per serving. I can eat like four of those little mushrooms in a sitting, easily.
Can’t wait to try these !!!!
Is there a brand of sugar free pizza sauce or do you have a homemade recipe?
Hi, Barb! By definition, no pizza sauce is truly sugar-free, since tomatoes contain sugar naturally. That said, the Kroger brand pizza sauce and the WalMart Great Value Pizza Sauce are the only two commercial sauces I’ve found so far that contain no added sugar. The more expensive the brand, it seems the more they add to a perfectly acceptable, plain sauce. And I like plain! So check the labels, and look for the sauces that contain no more than 3-4 net carbs per quarter cup.
Before I found you, I *never* made pizza at home. These days, we’re addicted to your cauli-pizza, which I make probably every other week (and my partner is always asking for), and now there are these!! I’m thinking that in addition to making freezer salsa at the end of summer, I’ll also be making pizza sauce! Wonder whether seven tomato plants will be enough? 😉 Thank you, again, Jamie.
Thank you for taking the time to write and to say such kind things, Patrice! I love your tomato plants! I really want some!
Made these last night and my wife and I loved them-she is not doing low carb. I did bake the mushrooms first for 12 minutes and let them cool before filling and finished baking as recipe dictates. I used a basil leaf piece on each mushroom, under the cheese also. I can see these easily as a bring along dish for parties. Gonna make these when the kids get home on summer break from college, I’m sure they will also love them-whats not to like lol- Great idea-Thank you.
I am so happy to hear about your experience. I also love how you prepared yours, too. The added basil sounds pretty terrific. Thank you so much for sharing your process and thoughts!
I cannot wait to try these!!
I hope you enjoy them. Just watch out for the hot fillings. The sauce becomes really warm.
Yum yum! Cannot wait to try these, they look so delicious yet the perfect healthy recipe I was looking for! I find quite often when getting home from work or uni I need a snack like these when time is against me, meaning the ease of this recipe and the time required to bake is a winner for me.
Oooooh! I am discovering this as I munch down my easypeasy pizza lunch of browned melted mozzarella crust with pepperoni wishing I had seen this first. Bet your bottom dollah I am making this next time………. adds portabella’s to the the grocery list …….
Just plain brilliant!!!! Great for my party this weekend 🙂
