I am a little too sad about the shootings and stabbings in the US and Chinese schools today to post much.
I am sending love, warmth and prayers to so many people today who need them. And I am squeezing my kids tight today. You never know when it might be the last time. That is the beauty and the tragedy of life; it’s so delicate and so beautiful, but it can be gone in an instant.
If you have lost someone dear, I am sending you warm thoughts, too. Loss and grief doesn’t know circumstances; it affects all loved ones the same.
Now on to how I’ve been doing with our Mid-Year Challenge… Be sure to do your thing. I am thrilled share my progress and thoughts, but I’m not the person you should necessarily look to for dieting advice (I’m not a paid nosh-a-titian). Be sure to subscribe for updates by adding your email right (in the sidebar) or through Feedburner in the title bar up top. You can also click the tab up top that says Mid-Year Resolution for regular updates.

I ate this:
Breakfast: Breakfast casserole (recipe)
Lunch: Recipes I’m sharing next week
Snack: Sugar-Free Hot Cocoa recipe I’m sharing next week
Dinner: More from the recipes I’m sharing next week
Exercise: Just hugging my kids. A lot. Big smooshy hugs.
Notes: I am so not hungry today. I’m foregoing Taco Star.
What I learned:
It’s hard to have much of an appetite when you see so many people aching today. So many parents will never hug their small children again because of crazed murderers. It makes me so sad.
Still, I guess that makes it all the more important for us to do what we can where we can to make a difference, no matter how small that difference might be. If we all took action by doing one good thing every day for someone else, think about how much brighter our tiny corners of the world might be!
There is so much to say but I’d rather not. The loss is horrible. The young man who did this was sick, pure and simple. it is a blessing that he is no longer with us. The pain will last a lifetime for many people and there is nothing that can be said or done to give comfort.
My heart cries.
JAM
We, here in Canada feel your pain! All here were glued to the tv and Internet for news!
How sad for the families in Newtown, CT. Just before Christmas…all this sadness!
May we all stop and offer a moment of prayer, and count our blessings!
Regards,
Glad
There are no words to say about what happened but you certainly said it well, Jamie. Thank you and big hugs to you and to all of our loved ones. My girls are coming home tomorrow from collage, can’t wait to give them huge hugs as well and pray for their safe journey home.
