A heart healthy diet includes five servings of veggies each day that include:
Potassium – to counterbalance sodium. Good sources are crimini mushrooms, spinach and swiss chard.
Antioxidants – to protect the heart and keep implementation at bay. Most veggies are a good source.
Garlic – lowers triglycerides and total cholesterol by 5 – 15%. But garlic’s biggest asset is its unique set of sulfur-containing compounds that protect blood cells and vessels from inflammatory and oxidative stress.
