She dipped her cheesecakes in what? |
First, Thank You everyone for the amazing Birthday well wishes yesterday! As I said, I stuck to plan and did really well. I didn’t even overeat the legal stuff.
I laughed pretty hard when this conversation took place yesterday (right). You know people know you when they call out your bacon obsession.
I had a great first week. It felt like three weeks, to be honest. There were a lot of overwhelming moments, and since I work from home, it would be easy to dive into some foods I shouldn’t. I could have overeaten the ones that were legal to a point (going beyond the daily allotment of four ounces of cheese would have been bad).
So how much did I lose the first week?
Before I share the number, first let me say I can vouch that most of the weight was, in fact, water weight, as much is the first week. Since prior to going back to low carb I had been ingesting some known foods to which I’m intolerant, I can vouch that once I dropped those I was no longer dealing with inflammation. I’ve been posting menus, and, as you can see, they’re standard Atkins inductions menus, so I’m not doing anything unusual for the weight loss. Being sick really didn’t affect me since I generally am not a major eater on low carb, so I tend towards two meals a day more than three anyway. That and, let’s face it; the more you have to lose, the more you’re going to lose the first two weeks.
All right! All of the above said, I lost 19 pounds my first week. Holla!
Yes, it sounds unreal, but there you go! The magic of healthy low carb living. the losses definitely slow after week one, so you’ll see a much smaller showing for week two. By week three, most experience what is known as post-induction stall, and I might not lose at all that week.
One thing’s for sure! I’ll never do a week one again. Whew.
So Amazing Awesome! Congrats!!
WOW…..for real? Great job Jaimie! Thanks for all you do!
congrats!
congrats!
So HAppY BiRTHDay you BACON DIVA, yes this is late and late does count!!! Thanks so much for all you encouraging words, and delightful humor. 19#, now that does rock and who the heck cares if it's water weight….the last time I checked…he he he …a pound of water weighed the same as a pound of flour…duh.
Every morning I check first thing to see what you're up to and to help get my head together for yet another day of low carbing it.
HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! Sorry I missed it. So your first week on induction was very encouraging to me. I just wish I could think the funny way you write ;( Bye the weigh…last time I checked a pound of water weighed as much as a pound of flour so 19# in your first week back is awesome!!!! You are a BACON DIVA and I'm right with you.
<3 Jayne
lol wooo I've been immortalized on your blog! haha 🙂 Ok your 19 is way better than my 6. Had I lost 19 lbs I'd probably be doing back flips.
WOOOOOOT button. I just pressed it. I am pleased to report that even after a Super Bowl carb overload, I STILL lost another pound.
Thank you for the woohoos, Kathy!
Thanks Atkins!
Jules– thank you for taking the time to write and offer congratulations. I appreciate it!
Kristen– Thank you!
Jayne– *sigh* You're right. Water weight is still weight. I just know I've earned my Aquarius water bearer sign on weeks like these.
Thank you for being a reader and for your kind words!
WOO HOO!!! You go, Girl!! I don't care if it's water weight or not – weight loss is weight loss!
I got derailed on day three, had to start over. I'm now on day 5, moderately in ketosis (as much as I ever get into it), down 4 pounds and have lost an inch of belly fat – YAY!!!
And, Like Jayne, I check in with you first thing every morning. I like to start the day with a good laugh. Thanks for being there. 🙂
Jamie – can I say "bloody hell" on your blog, cos that's what I said when I scrolled down!! Absolutely fantastic – I'm having a tough time with weight gain at the moment so your experience has really inspired me. 19lbs!!! whether it's water, fat, feathers or bacon, it's still 19lbs of weight, gone! Phew – well done 🙂
That is an unbelievable number! Wow, you go girl!
That is unreal!! You are such an inspiration, Jamie! Regardless whether its 'water weight' or not – its now OFF your body, and you no longer have that inflammation, and that is a *VERY GOOD THING*!!!
Keep the momentum going.
Holy Baconoly! Way to go! I've got 4 more days before my 1 week of induction weigh-in and if I hit even half that number I'm going to plotz (yes, that's a technical term).
Congratulations to you! Good for you for hanging in there and actually bringing us along. I just thought I would pass along a low carb recipe I found that I really liked… it is for Enchiladas and the "tortilla" is actually a thin egg crepe (no flour!) check it out! https://lowcarbgal.com/2010/09/beef-enchiladas/
AWE.SOME!!!!!
AWE.SOME!!
WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO. Congrats and Happy Birthday.
WWwooooo HHoooooo Congrats and Happy Birthday.
Thank you guys so much for your support and your woohoos!
AJ– Thank you! I do feel I need to explain the water situation since no one loses 19 pounds of fat in a week. I don't want anyone to have any funny notions about what happen the first week of induction. :^D
Way to go on your loss, by the way! I am proud of you for getting back on the wagon train!
Judith– You may say that! Thank you! It was a nice number to wake up to.
Robyn– Go us… go us…
Delta– Thank you! I am happy to not have the inflammation anymore. 19 pounds is pretty heavy if I list it in a box… it's funny how we carry so much more than that every minute of every day.
BlissfulGirl– Don't be a meshugena. I'll be here to plotz with you! Way to go on your induction!
Hey, Worker! Thank you so much for sharing! I will check it out. Thank you, too, for your support and happy vibes!
Edward– Thank you!
Marianne– Thank you so much! I had a wonderful day, and on plan. Attitude makes all of the difference.
Holy cow! I, I, I just…. well gosh! That's amazing!
Happy birthday and Congrats on your first week of induction! I am working on induction to get myself back on track. I have to say that since finding your site induction has been so much more tolerable with the recipes you've shared. So, thank you!! Good luck this next week!
Thats amazing, and inspirational. I fell off the LC wagon 6 months ago and have gained 25 lbs back. I have been half heartedly trying to get back to LC but without doing Induction Phase again. I know, It just does not work that way. Ok so that's it, you did it again and so can I. As of Monday goodbye fruit, goodbye LC bread, hello induction. Thanks as always for the motivation, and for sharing your life with us. You truly are an inspiration. Go bacon Babe Go!!!!!!
Congratulations and TOTALLY inspirational. Inspirational for me as I'm having such a hard time getting started, again. You give me strength. Thanks so much!
