I get moody, you get moody, we all get moody! There are foods that can help us with this. There are very good reasons to be moody, and the worst thing to do is to give these suggestion to someone while they are in a mood! (warning disclosed!) I look back and laugh at my pregnancy mood swings for example. I could be so irrational, but if anyone tried to tell me different.. take cover!!! Our moods can really impact our overall health and quality of life. Lack of sleep can make you extra irritable too. You may be feeling a bit blue or just stuck in a funk from time to time. You are not alone, we have all been there. Eating right and getting enough sleep can really help out with this, as well as taking a vitamin supplement. There are also superfoods that can really help out a lot too!
Green tea contains L-Theanine and this amino acid is helps with sleep, mood, and relaxation. There are supplements of just L-Theanine that can help you to turn off your mind and be able to sleep. It is a natural way to produce dopamine, which helps us calm down without any harsh ingredients.
There is a berry know as the happy berry, Goji Berries, and they earned that reputation for a reason. Goji has nutrients that support a healthy mood and even gives you a cheerful feeling. These are great when you might be down in the dumps. This has been used in Chinese medicine for over 3000 years!
Our brains are about 60% fat, so it is pretty easy to understand why we might be foggy headed if we are not getting enough essential fatty acids. Omega 3 fatty acids have so many healthy benefits, you cannot go wrong consuming these or taking supplements. Fats can be our friends and help clear the fog too!
Nerve tonic.. sounds interesting, no?! Lemon balm has a soothing effect on our nervous system and helps wipe out anxiety. This can help relieve us of long term stress too. You can use this in any tea, but I suggest to try it with chamomile!
Everyone has their owns ways to beat the blues and boost their moods. It does not hurt to give these few tips a try. Exercise is always a great mood booster for me.
What do you do to help lower stress, beat the blues, or snap out of a bad mood? Long hot baths can do a lot too!
Interesting, I just went and ordered some Goji Berries!

One of the surprise benefits of eating low carb: much more level moods.
I was told by the overweight dietitian that my hubby went to (when he was diagnosed diabetic) that it’s lack of carbohydrates that makes you foggy and how could I EVER get by on just 20 or less a day?!?!?! *HEAD*DESK* X 1,000,000,000,000
That’s interesting Renae – I think it’s starchy foods that make me foggy!
