Happy beginning of the week! So I hope you have had a good week last week and are ready to start tackling Thanksgiving? Our Canadian friends had their special day last month and now it’s our turn! I wonder if they have any good advice for us regarding staying on track?
Remember, Thanksgiving is a meal based around meat. That’s a great start! If you go with the dark meat, especially, the fat makes the bird self-limiting more often than not. I also have a bunch of Thanksgiving recipes here that I hope you’ll check out. Among my personal favorites are the new Caramel Apple Cheesecake, the Pumpkin Caramel Cheesecake, Savory Stuffing, Easy Gravy, and Fresh Cranberry Sauce. This Baked (Mock) Potato Salad is another fun dish, and it can be served hot, so you’ll never miss mashed potatoes!
It’s Monday, and you know what means: TOPS weigh-in! Weigh-in, in fact, for all of us. How did you do last week? Are you still hanging in there? Remember, you are worth the effort, so don’t give up.
Why do we weigh Mondays? Because it typically keeps people honest on the weekends, the most difficult days to stick to healthy eating and habits. I know without Monday weigh-ins, I’d probably be much more naughty. Thankfully, even though I was lax about updating you about me the last two weeks, I have worked really hard to keep climbing down the scale numbers.
I was up .25 pounds this week. I mean, that’s not bad, so I’m thrilled.
My total losses so far: 45 pounds
Total for all of our friends so far in this Mid-Year Resolution Challenge: 1300.50 pounds!
Wow! That is so much. I am so proud of everyone.
Now on to how I’ve been doing with our Mid-Year Challenge… Be sure to do your thing. I am thrilled share my progress and thoughts, but I’m not the person you should necessarily look to for dieting advice (I’m not a paid nosh-a-titian). Be sure to subscribe for updates by adding your email right (in the sidebar) or through Feedburner in the title bar up top. You can also click the tab up top that says Mid-Year Resolution for regular updates.
Monday, November 12
I ate this:
Breakfast: Nothing. Today is weigh-in day at TOPS and I never eat bfore a weigh-in
Lunch: Taco Star Nachos with corn chips
Dinner: Skipped. I’m too full from lunch.
Exercise: I am going to be back on the treadmill tomorrow. I miss it.
Notes: Considering how much cheese I ate on Friday, I am so glad I only gained .25 pounds this week!
What I am thankful for:
Right now at TOPS we’re supposed to journal what we’re thankful for.
I am thankful today for Taco Star (a great drive-through Mexican take-out restaurant). Knowing I can have something so wonderful, especially after being hungry through my TOPS meeting makes me so happy! As soon as I am driving home with my order and I catch that first whiff of their delicious food, I know it is all so worth it.
I was sad when Good Times disappeared from the spot, but now I’m so addicted to Taco Star’s quality and price, I never want to eat anything else.
Thank you, Taco Star.
