Looks and tastes like the real thing |
Low carb baking favorite holiday recipes can become complicated, especially as many recipes call for sweetened condensed milk.
While I already put a recipe together for sweetened condensed milk here using regular powdered milk for only 12 net carbs for the entire recipe, sometimes it’s nice to cut the lactose out of the recipe (along with the excess carbs) when possible.
Enter da da da daaaaa: LC Food Corp’s LC-Milk® Low Carb Low Lactose Real Milk Mix.
This product makes sweetened, condensed milk an exercise in utility. In woohootility, even. And at 0 net carbs for the entire recipe (save for the amount derived from the sweetener you elect to use), your own low-carb recipes have never tasted better.
Substitute anywhere sweetened, condensed milk is required. Like oh, I don’t know… this sugar free pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving…?
Just sayin’.
Sugar Free Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 cup LC-Milk® Low Carb Low Lactose Real Milk Mix
1/2 cup boiling water
3 Tbsp butter, melted
2 Tbsp Sweetleaf Stevia (I used 2 packets)
Combine in blender. Mix until well-blended. Makes the equivalent of one can of sweetened, condensed milk.
0 net carbs
Bazinga! And when you’re not busy making baking milks, you can use LC-Milk® Low Carb Low Lactose Real Milk Mix to make your own low carb smoothies, or even the recipe above. And with less lactose than regular milk.
So go ahead. Shake it up. Make it up. No matter how you fix it up, you can enjoy low carb milk again.

Hmm, it looks to me from the nutritional info that this product is just a sweetened protein powder. I think I'll try this with the whey powder in my pantry before splashing out on something else.
Great idea, but it has sucralose aka splenda in the mix, and I'm not a big fan. Like Andrea's idea, and maybe someone can post for their version??? Thanks.
Couldn't you just use the heavy cream without the mix? Sounds to me a little bit like dehydrated water — you know, just add water . . .
Andrea– let me know what happens! I think it's easy to thicken a powder, versus reducing a liquid. That said, I do have something better lined up!
Vooloovoo–Then you're going to like what I have coming up!
Danny– You can, and I just did today. Will share the results this week!
