This will be a shorter entry today because I’ve been working all day.

I love how clean and organized it is! It makes me happy when there’s some order to things.
On to other discussions, I am typically really strong in this way of eating, but last night I was a bit hungry before bed. My husband brought a corn dog to bed, and I wanted to slap it out of his hand because the smell triggered hunger pangs. I told him to get his corn covered wiener breath away from me. 😛
Now what I had yesterday… First of all, here’s the plan I’m following and here is the introduction post to the Mid-Year Resolution Challenge.
While you look at what I’m doing, be sure to do your thing. I am thrilled to give some ideas, but I’m not the person you should necessarily look to for dieting advice (I’m not a paid nosh-a-titian). I am, however, here with you to cheer you on when you’re so skinny you might fall through the holes in a manhole cover.

I ate this:
Breakfast: That casserole I’m still tweaking + Diet Coke
Lunch: 2 sausage patties sprinkled with Parmesan cheese + Diet Coke
Snack: Cottage cheese with shredded Parm and sunflower seeds
Dinner: Shrimp scampi and Steak Diane + Diet Coke
Notes: Ermagerd! The vitamins helped! I am not sick anymore. Whee! I staved it off!
What I learned:
When waiting at a restaurant, check the menu online ahead of time when you can.
I was able to plan and even calculate the carbs I’d be eating before I even walked out the door. As a result, I was able to enjoy a great meal and I wasn’t left second-guessing whether or not my fuel was going to come back to bite me.
Plan ahead and you won’t regret it.
Diet coke is a no, no. You should replace that with water.
I knowwwwww. *sigh* I will in the nearish future. Promise!
Try the Blue Sky Cola sweetened with Stevia. It’s DELICH!
Thank you! I will check it out! Today I’m making iced tea.
Luxury dining out at it’s best! You teach us well…I would have never thought of looking at menus beforehand. What a great idea! Then again, one cannot go wrong with the most expensive items on the menu! Yum! Dieting Dr. Atkins is spectacular!
Brunch…I slept in!
German sausage …fried…..yes! Right up there with fried bologna…only zero carb but crispier…almond milk….and Caesar salad!
Dinner…
Two small BBQ’d pork chops call my name! And perhaps some roasted eggplant slices…my eggplant is just larger than a golf ball! Very cute!
Snack…more cheese…and today I do crave a whey protein shake!
Regards,
Glad
Yes, I love the new recipe layout! Keep the recipes coming!
Oh, Gladys, I went so wrong! You’ll see tomorrow where I failed at choosing my dinner. I learned a valuable lesson.
Your food looks so terrific! I love the small eggplant. How cute is that.
I did notice. Thank you!! I sincerely appreciate you taking time to do this. I love your recipes Jamie. The shrimp scampi and steak for dinner sounds great. I must try it!
You are so kind to say that, Erica. I appreciate you taking the time to read and to respond! I learned a hard lesson about my dinner last night. I go more into detail about it tomorrow, but it comes down to one lamentable word: wheat.
Thanks, Jamie for these daily updates on how you are doing. I have not been responding much but believe me, they help to keep e going at getting back on track. I have been able to turn away from somethings even when everyone else is eating bread and buns and such. Watching what you eat each day helps me see that meals can be simple and don’t have to be elaborate with lots of cooking. Also that you can eat out without blowing it!
Linda, thanks so much for your kind words! And I am really proud of the efforts you’re making as well. This is going to be a New Year to celebrate!
That is a good idea about studying a restaurant menu ahead of time. Especially for dinner. Lunches are easy, salad, but suppers are more difficult. So many potatoes, breading, sauces. I never have a problem asking for substitutes but by narrowing down my choice ahead of time, I can spend more time on the company than by doing a line by line examination and making it more of an issue than I care to. Thanks and happy Monday!
I was surprised that my meal contained gluten. I suppose I should have known better, but for that price and that little food, I was expecting more “fullness” and that just didn’t happen. ‘M I bad.
