While this won’t be the lowest-carb gravy in the world if adding Kitchen Bouquet for the color, this still produces a nice, quick gravy, even minus the turkey juices on Thanksgiving.
This is an all-purpose, quick gravy for almost any occasion, and is perfect with mashed cauliflower. The chicken bouillion can be replaced with beef for a different flavor.
Low Carb Gravy
2 cups cold water
2 Tbsp bouillion (chicken or beef)
2 Tbsp ThickNThin/Not Starch
2 Tbsp Kitchen Bouquet browning sauce*
Salt and pepper to taste
In a saucepan, mix cold water with bouillion, ThickNThin/Not Starch, salt and pepper, and Kitchen Bouquet (*if you’re going for a darker gravy).
Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat, stirring occasionally. Lower heat to a low simmer, stirring occasionally until the desired thickness is attained.
Makes 6 servings.

Hi, I can’t seem to find the think n thin not starch anywhere. Do you have a substitute and how much to get the same results you did? Having gone grain free, I’ve really missed gravies! Thanks for all you do, Pat
Hi, Pat! You have options, thankfully. You could use a wee bit of ciorn starch, which isn’t low-low carb, or you could go with cream cheese, which contains thickeners, or go with a product like LCFood Corp’s Thickener (which I also really love): https://www.holdthecarbs.com/lc-thickn-saucy-gravy-maker?keyword=thickener&category_id=0 I use it for thickening just about anything.
Thanks Jamie! I may start experimenting with some different thickeners and see what happens!
Just watch xanthan. It’s gummy… Ooh. Forgot. Chia seeds might be an option, too.
Thanks again. I will watch the xanthan. Also might try guar.
