Want a quick, funny story? As you can see in this image, I spent a lot of time putting together a cooking video on Friday…
And then I forgot to push the “record” button on the camera. I didn’t record a thing. That’s how I roll. The bonus is I now have a dry run!
I film in a really dark kitchen, so I have to bounce light everywhere, and it looks like I’m going to need some soft boxes and an umbrella or two to bounce even more light around. By the time I’m done, the room is going to be bathed in light–and heat! I can see me rushing to film frostings and ice creams before they melt! 😀
If you look closely, you’ll even see my cat napping nearby. She’s the critic. Everyone needs one of those.
Now on to how I’ve been doing with our Mid-Year Challenge… Be sure to do your thing. I am thrilled share my progress and thoughts, but I’m not the person you should necessarily look to for dieting advice (I’m not a paid nosh-a-titian). Be sure to subscribe for updates by adding your email right (in the sidebar) or through Feedburner in the title bar up top. You can also click the tab up top that says Mid-Year Resolution for regular updates.
Saturday, November 17
I ate this:
Breakfast: Skipped due to a huge dinner Friday that kept me full
Lunch: Salami + cottage cheese + A piece of fudge and 1 tsp butter cream frosting I’m developing
Dinner: A piece of fudge + cheese
Exercise: I was on my feet a bunch getting ready for the holidays and working with Scouts
Notes: We were so busy, I hardly had time to eat. We ran errands all day long. That is such a far cry from my constantly thinking about food and places we could conveniently find food at. Now, all I care about is getting caffeine, and I’m good.
Sunday, November 18
I ate this:
Breakfast: Jimmy Dean Patty Sausages cooked on the stove and browned. So yummy.
Lunch: Salami
Dinner: Turkey burger + cheese+ mayo + SF ketchup
Late night snack: A piece of fudge… debuting Monday!
Exercise: Today I pitted gallons of cherries. Does that count?
Notes: The Jimmy Dead [typo but it’s hilarious, so it stays] Sausage Patties (uncooked) are only 1 carb per 2 sausages, so they are a great way to fill up easily without a lot of cooking. I love how nicely they brown up, too.
What I am Thankful For:
TOPS! The not-for-profit weight loss group keeps me accountable with weekly weigh-ins, support, and fun.
I really love going in each Monday and weighing in. If you’re looking for a cheap, not-for-profit group that’s big on support and small on guilt, check them out! www.tops.org. I credit them for much of the 50 pounds I’m down already, in addition to our Mid-Year Resolution Challenge.
I can’t wait to share how much I lost this week with you tomorrow.
“Jimmy Dead” sausages… LOL!!!
Did I typo that? Really?!
You kill me with your funny remarks! I would like to see another pic of the treadmill desk, but not sure if I could do it since I have trouble walking and chewing gum! Love your posts, love your recipes. You are fabulicious!~~
You are so funny. It’s really easy to walk and to work at the same time because you walk so slow,. The desk also helps steady wrists which helps you know where you are in your space, which helps with balance.
My kitchen has loads of recessed canned lights, so while I have lots of light, none of it is natural and I get tons of shadows. Grrrrr. I shoot none of my food photos in my kitchen, have to travel to the back of the house where I get “some” light, however, here in MN our daylight hours are dwindling fast. Have a great day Jamie…love to see you on video. 🙂
You are wonderful, Vanessa. Thank you. I’d love to see anything on video. It helps to push the record button first. I swear I live in a cave, it’s so dark in this house…
50 lbs – rock on
Thank you, Diane! And in such a short period of time. Now I kick myself thinking how much farther I’d be if I had started earlier, but that kind of thinking does me no good.
Onward!
