Hello, sweet speckled eggs of loveliness!
(I posted a picture of eggs, left, but that was pure randomness. I wouldn’t eat you or even make you into a casserole. That is my breakfast casserole made for the crock pot! Recipe here.)
I am in the kitchen today doing some inspired (not the flammable kind of inspired), cool stuff for you, and I can’t wait to share. Keep your fingers crossed that it works out the way it should. I am totally, freaky excited about it!
Also, I really and truly appreciate everything you told me you want to see in the upcoming year, and I am happy to do those things for you. In fact, I’m putting a publishing schedule together that will ensure I can help everyone. I hope you’ll subscribe to the site and stay tuned for more, terrific information! Now that I know how I can narrow don helpful efforts, I will spend more time on those–in addition to more, savory dishes.
Did you know that the more subscribers I have, the better it is for advertising and publishing, too? Thank you for subscribing!
I am back to eating not like a silly person today and I can tell I have a little residual bloating from yesterday (likely the cheese from all of the pizza scrapings), so I have been extra conscientious today.
I don’t know about you, but I was able to stay away from all of the soy, glutens/wheat and potatoes. Why? Because they make me feel so sick. I decided it had to be worth it to eat them, and it isn’t. Especially not when I’m cravings fresh vegetables and meat.
Oh! And I am wearing my new pajamas today! I am a pajamas girl, so to be able to wear smaller PJs is so much fun. That is my bare foot and snow and my my pajama pants on the back deck. I take a lot of my site pictures outside in open shade (Colorado is one of the sunniest states in the country), and I’m often running about in my bare feet.
It’s cold and dry, and, being a Wisconsin girl, it’s not that bad.
Now on to how I’ve been doing with my weight loss food allergy search… A lot of what I eat are baseline foods, which means they’re foods I’m not allergic to. Be sure to do your thing. I am thrilled share my progress and thoughts, but I’m not the person you should necessarily look to for dieting advice (I’m not a paid nosh-a-titian). Be sure to subscribe for updates by adding your email right (in the sidebar) or through Feedburner in the title bar up top. You can also click the tab up top that says Mid-Year Resolution for regular updates.
Wednesday, January 3
I ate this:
Breakfast: Cottage cheese + Shredded Parmesan + green olives + sunflower seeds + 2 cherry tomatoes
Lunch: Picked off the toppings from pizza: sun-dried tomatoes, chicken, feta and a tiny bit of cheese
Snack: Cucumber slices with ranch and onion dip + 2 pie cherries (if I’m not telling the truth, I am not a good friend)
Dinner: Cucumber slices + onion dip + tomatoes
Notes: I don’t know about you, but I’m craving a skirt steak. Do you ever crave a certain kind of meat?
What I learned:
Guess what! I love you.
Give yourself a hug from me today, especially if you need one.
Really thankful for your honesty. It makes me realize that slip ups are human–get over it and move on. Hey, I think I just found another resolution for 2013. Have a great day.
Thankfully, too, slip ups (or just not eating as healthfully) doesn’t have to mean falling off the wagon. I think my slightly less-stringent eating works when I just really stay away from the foods I’m allergic to–like the soy, wheat and nightshades (and excess dairy). I’ve come a long way from my, “You must do Atkins induction and it has to be by the book!” scolding no-no finger days. I think being pa perfectionist hurt me in more ways than one.
I had followed you off and on from the LCFriend days and I am thankful that I found you again on Facebook and now here…..and no! I’m not a stalker lol
We have a lot in common in the way we eat… in the things we like to eat and also in the things we like to eat that don’t like us…meh…… My only regret is not finding you again in Aug 2012 when you started the first weight loss challenge…However no use crying over spilt milk right! I am part of the Valentines day challenge and I am looking forward to every day towards that goal….Thank you for all you are and all you do….Have a great day hun 🙂
I am so glad you’re here, too! I look forward to seeing what we do together in 2013. Look out!
what is a skirt steak.?im on a journey with you so world look out 2 or more beauties are in the stage ofbeing a lot smaller.here we are world.
Sharon–a skirt steak is a chewy, thin steak that can be grilled and is so amazing. You cut on the bias for long, fajita-like strips.
You are so right. Start practicing your princess wave!
I think skirt steak is something that Lady Gaga wore. (Sorry-well, no I’m not! 8>D)
*groan*
That was a good one. An udderly good one.
Hi Jamie, love your sense of humour. How did you come to discover your allergies? I have ice packs on my knees right now because of osteoarthritis and doc told me I have lots of inflammation which I know is in part due to what I eat but not certain what foods are causing my inflammation and don’t know where to start to figure it out. Any points in the right direction would be appreciated – my body and I don’t communicate too well 🙂
Hi, Isabel! I started with Dr. Ross’ The Diet Cure book and then, from there, started making my own discoveries. I talk about those more in depth here: https://yourlighterside.com/food-allergy-friday-day-121/
I hope it helps! I want you to feel better. Inflammation is no fun.
mmmm skirt steak with chimichurri sauce *yum*
